Uganda
Meet the cousins
Uganda is the best of Africa in one manageable bundle. This small and beautiful nation is dotted in lakes, threaded with rivers and covered in rain forests and savannah grasslands from which burst volcanic cones and snow-capped mountains. This great diversity of landscapes means that Uganda is home to a multiude of creatures including safari favourites, lions, elephants, rhinos, buffalo and leopards. But it’s also a birdwatchers paradise with a huge variety of grassland, farm and forest species, some of which are more commonly associated with Central Africa. And, then there’s the Ugandans themselves. Ever smiling, it would be hard to find a more welcoming people in Africa. And all that’s before we even mention Uganda’s two biggest attractions. Chimpanzees and mountain gorillas. If you want to see either of these great apes then without question Uganda is the best place in the world to do so.
What really seals the deal to make Uganda such a superb destination is that distances are relatively short, costs are lower than in neighbouring countries, the tourist infrastructure is excellent and yet - for the moment at least - there are relatively few tourists to share Uganda’s wonders with.
Come with us to explore one of our very favourite African countries.
